BATH – Senior guard Jon Fournier drained a team-high 14 points in a balanced attack as Lewiston broadsided the Morse Shipbuilders 55-47 in a KVAC boys’ basketball action Friday.

The Blue Devils (5-0) jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the early going, but the Shipbuilders (3-2) battled back to within one at the break. Joe Stachowiak contributed 13 points, while Junior forward Jared Turcotte chipped in with 11 points for Lewiston.

Morse guard Mike Percy notched a game-high 21 points on eight field goals, including five from beyond the arc. But Lewiston connected on key free throws in the second half to push ahead of Morse for the win.

Oxford Hills 60, Cony 47

AUGUSTA – Ben Ryerson netted 15 points as Oxford Hills held off a late surge to defeat Cony 60-47 in boys’ basketball action Friday.

Cony erased a 10-point deficit to tie the game at the half, but the Vikings’ 3-point shooting in the third quarter and seven of nine free throw shooting in the final frame clinched the win.

Colton Weymouth had 11 points, including three 3-pointers, and Chris McVety had nine points to go with seven rebounds for Oxford Hills (3-2).

Chris Thurston had 12 points to lead the Mustangs (1-4), and Brian Lui chipped in with 11.

Camden Hills 70, Oak Hill 59

WALES – Paul Campbell and Cameron Puls each scored 13 points to lead Camden Hills past Oak Hill 70-59 in a boys’ basketball game Friday.

Gordon Fischer added 12 points for Camden (2-2), which pulled away at the foul line and outscored the Raiders 18-8 at the charity stripe.

Mike Eaton was the top scorer in the game with 22 points for Oak Hill (0-4), including four buckets from behind the three-point line.

Todd Nyberg had 10 points for the Raiders, and Brian Bisson chipped in with nine points, all on 3-pointers.

Brunswick 58, Leavitt 47

TURNER – Travis O’Dell had 13 points and Doug Eichinger added 11 as Brunswick downed Leavitt 58-47 to remain undefeated on the season in a boys’ basketball game Friday.

Tyler Millett led the Hornets with 19 points and contributed 11 rebounds and a steal. Cam Angell had nine points and six rebounds, Eric Berry added nine points, and Chris Crosby had 10 rebounds to go with five points.

Maranacook 50, MCI 49

READFIELD – Wil Bardaglio hit a 3-point shot with 0:02 remaining to give Maranacook 50-49 boys’ basketball victory over MCI on Friday.

Bardaglio finished the game with 10 points, while Ryan Martin led the Black Bears (6-0) with 21 points, including 10 from the foul line. Mike Poulin also had 10 points to go with four assists.

Andrew Tracy netted a game-high 24 points in the game for MCI (2-1), and Victor Quint added 11 points.

Girls’ basketball

Cony 65, Oxford Hills 36

SOUTH PARIS – Casey Cooper drained a game-high 18 points to lead Cony to a 65-36 victory over Oxford Hills in a KVAC girls’ basketball matchup on Friday.

Kristy Violette chipped in with 17 for the Rams. Cony had a slow start on offense with just six points in the first quarter, then pulled away in the third with a 23-point lead going into the fourth.

Mt. Blue 81, Old Town 31

OLD TOWN – Bonney Silkman dropped a game-high 24 points to power the Mt. Blue Cougars to an 81-31 win over Old Town in a girls’ basketball game Friday.

Mt. Blue’s Christina Mosher was the second leading scorer with 19, while Aylson Webster added 13.

The Cougars played great defense, allowing just 12 points in the second half. Katie Beregron led Old Town with a team-high nine in the loss.
