LEWISTON – Jared Turcotte had a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds to lead Lewiston to a 65-52 victory over Cony in a KVAC boys’ basketball game Tuesday evening.
The contest was close at the half, 26-23 in favor of Lewiston. The Blue Devils (6-0) stepped up their game in the third, and kept the pressure on throughout the fourth quarter. Jon Fournier added 12 points.
The Rams (5-1) were paced by Nate Eldridge with a game-high 17 points.
Leavitt 69, EL 57
TURNER – Cameron Angell poured in 20 points and pulled down 10 rebounds Tueday night to lead Leavitt to a 69-57 victory over Edward Little in a KVAC boy’s basketball matchup.
Leavitt jumped out to a 17-7 lead in the first quarter and never trailed. Edward Little managed to go point-for-point in the second quarter, but slumped slightly in the second half.
Tyler Millett chipped in for the Hornets (2-4) with 19 points and seven rebounds, while Matt Nash added 14 points.
Troy Barnies led the Red Eddies (3-3) with 22 points, while Eric Prue added 12.
Girls’ basketball
Mtn. Valley 60, Lisbon 36
LISBON – Kristen Arsenault drained a game-high 30 points Tuesday night to power Mountain Valley to a 60-36 rout over Lisbon in girls’ hoops action.
Mountain Valley held a 34-20 advantage at the halftime break, then sealed the victory with a 14-6 run in the third quarter.
Tanya Martin chipped in for the Falcons with 12 points.
Kelly Bourgoin led the Greyhounds (0-5) with eight points, while Mindy Sullivan and Emily Moore added seven apiece.
Jay 50, Boothbay 47
BOOTHBAY – Kaylie DeMillo netted 22 points and recorded her 1,000th career point as Jay slipped past Boothbay, 50-47.
DeMillo, a junior, tallied her 1,000th point in the third quarter. She also had seven rebounds and four assists for the Tigers (4-2). Liz LeBlanc added 12 points and eight rebounds.
Joyce Changan and Ali Hartley poured in 13 and 12 points, respectively, for the host Seahawks (2-3).
Telstar 57, Monmouth 38
BETHEL – Jillian Kimball and Kelsey Dole netted 15 points each to lead Telstar to a 57-38 rout over Monmouth in KVAC girls’ basketball action Tuesday.
Telstar held a commanding 33-23 advantage at the halftime break and were never seriously challenged.
Dole also pulled down nine rebounds for the Rebels (4-2), while Kimball added five assists.
Brittany Scirica led the Mustangs with nine points, while Jenn Lola added eight.
Hall-Dale 57, Carrabec 45
NORTH ANSON – Caitlyn Laflin poured in a game-high 21 points as undefeated Hall-Dale edged past Carrabec 57-45 in an MVC girls’ basketball matchup.
Katie Frett and Brittany Olsen added seven points apiece for the Bulldogs. Hall-Dale (6-0) held a 31-18 advantage at the half.
The Cobras (1-5) were led by Kristina Earle with 16 points, five rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Tiffany Gurney added eight points, five steals, and three assists.
Maranacook 34, Lincoln 32
READFIELD – Shannon Bean netted 14 points Tuesday night as Maranacook edged Lincoln 34-32.
Jackie Marazik chipped in for the Black Bears (2-5) with six points in the narrow victory.
Kari Jones led the way for Lincoln (0-6) with a nine points, while Nicole Russell added five. Lincoln pulled to a 12-12 tie by halftime.
, outscored the Black Bears 12-7 in the third quarter, then were outscored 15-8 when it mattered most in the fourth quarter.
