HEBRON – Heather Kelleher scored 17 points, and Hebron never recovered from a 14-0 deficit in the first quarter as Gould rolled to a 41-22 victory in girls’ basketball action.
Carley Rudd chipped in with 10 points for undefeated Gould (4-0), and Michaela Cummings added five more points.
Hebron (0-4) played nearly even with its opponent through the last three quarters, using screens, and the shooting and rebounding of center Sara Powers to stay in the game. Powers finished with 13 points.
Poland 37, Cape Elizabeth 33
CAPE ELIZABETH – Senior forward Mallory Huskins and sophomore forward Paige Piper each collected eight points as Poland beat Cape Elizabeth 37-33.
The Knights (3-6) led 16-10 at the half.
Haley Thompson scored a game-high 11 points for the Capers (3-6).
Junior center Katherine Hall and sophomore guard Danielle Belanger combined for five foul shots in the last minute of regulation to keep the Knights ahead.
