BETHEL – Evan Monocal downed 17 points to lead Lisbon to a 55-39 win over Telstar in a boys’ basketball Thursday evening.

Levi Ervin added 16 points, while Mike Willans chipped in with 14 for the Greyhounds (6-4).

Sean Caddigan poured in 21 of Telstars’ (5-5) 39 points, and had 11 rebounds, to pace the team. Ryan Kimball added 10 points for the Rebels.

Dirigo 79, Jay 24

DIXFIELD – Spencer Berry and Mike Holmquist poured in 13 points each Thursday evening to pace Dirigo to a 79-24 romp over Jay in MVC boy’s basketball action Thursday.

Holmquist also contributed for the Cougars (8-1) with five assists and six rebounds. Chris Richards chipped in with 12 ponts, while Colby Knapp added 10 in a well-balanced offensive attack.

Nick Guilliver led the Tigers with six points, while Brad Loon added four. Dirigo held a commanding 25-4 advantage at the half and was never seriously challenged.

Greely 62, Poland 50

POLAND – Caleb Jordan poured in a game-high 31 points to lead Greely to a 62-50 victory over Poland in a WMC boys’ basketball matchup Thursday. Matt McDonough chipped in for the Rangers (7-3) with 13 points in what was basically a two-man show.

Tyler Merchant led the Knights (5-5) with a 12-point performance, while Chad Westleigh and John Lecznar tallied 11 apiece. Greely trailed by seven at the half, yet went on a 30-15 run in the fourth quarter to pull out the win.

Wells 47, G-NG 40

GRAY – Jeff Page downed a game-high 19 points as Wells slipped past Gray-New Gloucester 47-40 in a WMC boys’ hoops matchup Thursday.

Brandon Stevens contributed 13 points in the Warriors’ (4-6) win. Wells had a strong fourth quarter where 11 of its 16 points scored came off the foul line.

The Patriots’ (3-7) led at the half, 25-20, but couldn’t keep the pressure up throughout the second half of the contest. Gray-New Gloucester was paced by Tyler Blanchard with 12 points, including three 3-pointers, and Chris Bennett who added seven points and nine rebounds.

Livermore Falls 70, Carrabec 34

LIVERMORE FALLS – Mike Durrell dominated the court as he poured in 27 points and 11 rebounds to lead Livermore Falls to a 70-34 triumph over Carrabec on Thursday evening.

Derek Neil chipped in with 13 points for the Andies (5-6) win. Rory Young contributed 11 rebounds, while Zack Keene contributed 11 assists.

The Andies posted a 32-15 lead at halftime and never looked back.

Jake Goodwin tallied eight points for the Cobras (2-8).

Boothbay 69, Monmouth 62

MONMOUTH – Roy Arsenault tallied 17 points as Boothbay slipped past Monmouth to post a 69-62 win in a MVC basketball matchup Thursday.

Kris Noonan contributed 16 points, while Adam Climo added 11 for the Seahawks (9-1).

The Mustangs (0-9) were led by Scott Ogden with 17 points, while Nate Armstrong chipped in with seven points, eight assists, and six rebounds.

Hockey

Win-Dale 5, Maranacook 1

KENTS HILL – Russ Schmelzer netted a pair of goals Thursday evening to lead Win-Dale to a 5-1 victory over Maranacook in hockey action.

Mike Fleichmann, Sam Frost and Seth Kimball also tallied for Win-Dale to complete the scoring. Josh Grant made 19 saves in net to record the victory.

Corey Palmer tallied the lone goal for Maranacook with an assist from Luke Ponti. Kyle Vorpagel handled netkeeping duties, turning aside 29 shots.

Girls’ basketball

Kents Hill 52, Averill 17

HINCKLEY – Aleigh Mills poured in a game-high 22 points and added 16 rebounds to boot as Kents Hill triumphed over Averill 52-17 in girls’ basketball action Thursday.

Alessandra Rohde chipped in with 10 points for the Huskies (4-0), while Jackie Gershman-Manocchi led the team in steals with seven.

The Averill (0-7) effort was paced by Brianna Small with a team-high seven points.

Belfast 51, Oak Hill 26

BELFAST – Jillian Ross had a solid game as she drained 24 points, leading Belfast to a 51-26 routing of Oak Hill in a girls’ KVAC basketball matchup Thursday.

Ross downed two 3-pointers en route to her 24 points, while Janie Flagg added 10 points for the Lions.

The Raiders were paced by Cassie Kupfer and Ashley Delaney, each scoring eight points.
