LACONIA, N.H. (AP) – Officials are recommending against swimming at Weirs Beach because of high bacteria levels.

Tests Friday showed the high levels and more tests are expected today.

The city Parks and Recreation Department said lifeguards will remain on duty at the popular Lake Winnipesaukee beach, and recommending people stay out of the water until bacteria levels go down.
