WAKEFIELD, N.H. (AP) – The state is beginning safety improvements on an accident-prone section of Route 16 in Wakefield.

The state already has put rumble strips on part of the road, but work is beginning now on new left-turn lanes and tree clearing to improve visibility on the busy road.

Final paving, new guardrails and signs will be added next spring.
