DURHAM, N.H. (AP) – Former Penobscot Chief Barry Dana will discuss the struggle of Native Americans to protect their homeland from government and corporate exploitation Monday at the University of New Hampshire.
The presentation includes the showing of the documentary film “Homeland: Four Portraits of Native Action.” The film features leaders of four Native American communities fighting to save their lands.
Dana will discuss his interactions with the state of Maine and paper companies with two sociology classes during the morning. The film will be shown at 4:30 p.m. in Theater II of the Memorial Union Building.
