ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J. (AP) – Unilever, in cooperation with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, on Thursday announced the voluntary recall of hundreds of cartons of Knorr chicken-flavor bouillon cubes.

The recall involved 400 2.5-ounce cartons, sold to a limited number of customers in New Jersey, Florida, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York and Rhode Island.

Each cartons has the UPC code number 4800171162 stamped on its end flaps.

Unilever was recalling the cartons because they contained some fish-flavor cubes, which presented a risk of life-threatening allergic reaction for those with an allergy or severe sensitivity to fish.

The cartons had the UPC code number 4800171162, located on the end flap of each carton, along with a best-if-used-by date of March 17, 2007.
