BEDFORD, N.H. (AP) – Five years after a 38-acre piece of land sparked controversy, the property could be the site of high-end retail shops and a senior housing development.
Saint Anselm College has agreed to sell the prime real estate to Hawthorne Partners. The sale hinges on getting permits for the proposed mixed-use venture.
Neither party disclosed the price. It had been advertised for $7 million.
Developers wanted to build a Target there in 2002. Residents objected and the property was donated to the college instead.
