BRENTWOOD, N.H. (AP) – A Massachusetts man has pleaded guilty to a New Hampshire bank robbery after leaving a big clue behind at another bank heist – his home address.

George Melendez, 40, of Lowell, pleaded guilty to robbing a Citizen’s Bank branch in Salem in January 2006. Prosecutors said he handed a teller a note saying he was carrying a bomb in a bag. He got away with more than $1,000 and left the bag behind.

Salem police noted similarities with two other robberies in Massachusetts. At one of them, a man matching the description of the Salem robber made the same threat, and also left the bag behind. There was no bomb then either.

But there were books, including an address book containing Melendez’ home address.
