SEABROOK, N.H. (AP) -Part of a nuclear power plant went offline Friday afternoon for repairs and will remain shut down for the next few days, a spokesman said.

Seabrook Station’s nonnuclear operations were shut down about 4 p.m., spokesman Al Griffin said. The plant remains offline for non-emergency repairs.

The nuclear power plant produces enough electricity to meet the daily needs of more than 900,000 homes. It sits on 900 acres north of Boston and south of Portsmouth.
