BOSTON (AP) – A commuter train struck a man in Boston’s Revere section, breaking an arm of the 30-year-old late Saturday, transit officials said Sunday.
The man got through a fence and was probably walking on the tracks when there was contact with the train. He was taken to the Massachusetts General Hospital for treatment, Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority Police Sgt. Manes Cadet said.
The man was trespassing on MBTA property when the inbound train, traveling from Rockport to Boston, struck him at about 10:30 p.m., spokeswoman Lydia Rivera said.
It was not immediately clear what the man was doing in MBTA property at the time of the incident, Rivera said.
The incident occurred in the area of Beach Street and Shirley Avenue. Officials did not release additional information and police were investigating.
