MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) – Discount Irish airline Ryanair Holdings is looking to launch a transatlantic airline, and airport officials in Providence and Manchester are hoping to be on the schedule.
Manchester-Boston Regional Airport Manager Kevin Dillon said he wants to talk to the Irish airline. He says Manchester is very interested in landing transatlantic flights, through low-fare service or charter service.
Patti Goldstein, a spokeswoman at T.F. Green International Airport outside Providence, says they are pleased to learn of the potential service and expect to be talking with Ryanair soon.
Ryanair said it envisions the new airline charging as little as about $12, plus taxes and fees, for flights from Ireland, England and Germany to airports near Boston, Dallas, New York, San Diego, San Francisco, and cities in Florida.
