AMHERST, N.H. (AP) – Two men were killed when their car crashed into five other vehicles and burst into flames on Route 101 Wednesday night.
According to police, Raymond Perreault, 26, of Mount Vernon, and Patrick Kelly, 21, of Amherst, were in a Corvette that was pulled over for speeding shortly before the crash. When the car took off again, police pursued it for a short time before calling off the chase.
The car then crossed into the westbound lane, striking several other vehicles before bursting into flames, police said. Authorities are still trying to determine which man was driving the Corvette.
Four of the other drivers were unhurt. Kerstin Strand, 35, of Milford, suffered serious injuries.
The road was closed for about six hours during the investigation.
