BRENTWOOD, N.H. (AP) – A Newton man has been convicted of giving his girlfriend heroin, causing her death.
A Rockingham County jury found 22-year-old Dante Silva guilty of dispensing a controlled drug with death resulting.
On March 15, 2006, Caitlin Brady of Kingston died from the toxic effects of heroin.
Silva is currently out on bail pending sentencing. The case can carry a penalty of up to life in prison.
County Attorney Jim Reams says he hopes the verdict sends a message that even casual drug use can kill, and that those who provide dangerous drugs to others will be held accountable.
