RAYMOND, N.H. (AP) -Workers were workers were passing out free, temporary cell phones on Sunday to people still without phone service because of last week’s storm.

State emergency management spokesman Jim Van Dongen said the offer was open to people in the 895 exchange covering Raymond and parts of Nottingham, Fremont and Epping who have no landline service or personal cell phone.

The cell phones have 30-minutes of air time on them. Raymond Town Manager Rick Bates said the phones were provided so residents can make 911 and other emergency calls.

Officials were getting the word out about the phones because four calling centers in Raymond closed Sunday and three in Nottingham were to close Monday morning.
