WALPOLE, N.H. (AP) – The head of northern New England’s largest food-service management company is retiring and the New Hampshire-based company is being bought by a private equity company.
Founder Carl Fitz is retiring from Fitz, Vogt & Associates and ownership of the company is being transferred to the Weatherly Group, a private equity company based in New York.
FitzVogt began with Fitz and co-founder Roy Vogtas in 1977 with a single client, the Thompson House skilled nursing facility in Brattleboro, Vt., which still is a client.
The company now is based in Walpole, N.H., and has more than 1,000 employees serving more than 125 clients around New England and the Mid-Atlantic states. They include assisted and independent living facilities, schools and colleges, nursing homes, camps and jails.
