PLAINFIELD, N.H. (AP) – Drugs and alcohol were a factor in a fiery crash that killed three people, according to state police.
Edward Ruggeri, 43, of Enfield, was speeding south on Route 12A Feb. 1 when his SUV crossed into the other lane and crashed into a flatbed truck.
Ruggeri and the driver of the truck, Carol Dunn, 38, of Perkinsville, Vt., were killed in the crash. A passenger in Ruggeri’s SUV, Sherlann Carr, 39, of Hartford, Vt., died a few days later.
Police said Ruggeri, who had been charged with drunk driving before, was under the influence of drugs and alcohol at the time of the crash.
