SALEM, N.H. (AP) – Police on Friday arrested the second of two inmates who escaped the day before from work assignments at the Rockingham County nursing home.

A passer-by spotted 21-year-old Michael Saulnier hiding in bushes near the Mall at Rockingham Park and called police, authorities said.

Police captured inmate Stephen Foti in Salem on Thursday night. They also captured another man, Hector Bordonada, 23, of Lawrence, Mass., who they believe was the getaway driver.

Saulnier and Foti walked away from their jobs in the nursing home laundry around 11:30 a.m. Thursday.

“We believe it was premeditated,” said Rockingham County Sheriff’s Capt. Mark Peirce.

Foti was serving a six-month sentence for a probation violation, and Saulnier was serving a 10-month sentence for forgery and an additional 76 days for assault. They now face felony charges of escape, which carry a 3 to7-year prison sentence.
