PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (AP) – A New Hampshire nurse is scheduled to plead guilty to charges she used her position to have a former boyfriend involuntarily committed for psychiatric care.
Julia Lynch, 30, of Rollinsford, is scheduled to appear in Portsmouth District Court on Monday on charges of false swearing and tampering with public records at Portsmouth Regional Hospital, where she was a nurse. She’s also charged with stalking and false imprisonment.
Prosecutors say she filed paperwork with the hospital saying her former boyfriend needed emergency psychiatric services last fall. In response, police took him into custody and brought him to the hospital for an evaluation.
He did not need psychiatric care.
Lynch faces similar charges involving a second former boyfriend last spring.
