MEREDITH, N.H. (AP) – Four people escaped injury when their boat swamped Monday morning in chilly Lake Winnipesaukee
The Marine Patrol says the boat overturned just before 9 a.m., after running into strong winds and rough water that came over the bow. The boat was being driven by Chad Morisde, 25, of Calais, Maine, officials said.
Two people swam to Bear Island and two swam to Little Pine Island, where they were picked up by the Marine Patrol and the Meredith Fire Rescue Boat. All were treated and released.
