SAUGUS, Mass. (AP) – Three members of the same family were found dead in a Saugus apartment complex in what authorities are calling an apparent double-murder suicide.
Investigators have released few details about the incident, including the names and ages of the victims and the nature of their deaths.
The victims were found shortly after 2 p.m. in an apartment in the Avalon at Stevens Pond development in Saugus, according to Steve O’Connell, spokesman for the Essex County district attorney’s office.
Neighbors said they were shocked by the violence in an otherwise quiet area.
“It shows it can happen anywhere,” Doreen Parola, who lives in a nearby building, told The Boston Globe.
