FARMINGTON – With the end of the school year comes the close of another season of original improv comedy by the Mt. Blue Curtain Raisers. Continuing what it hopes will be a long-standing tradition, the troupe will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 14, at the West Farmington Grange Hall. The show featuring musical guests is free, with donations accepted at the door.
This show marks the end of another year in The Curtain Raisers’ history highlighted by performances at the National Honors Society State Conference in Orono and ImprovBoston in Cambridge, Mass. Workshops with IB as well as the University of Maine at Farmington’s Lawn Chair Pirates have yielded new ideas and approaches.
The group’s eclectic lineup has resulted in some classic games, including the fan-favorite, time-traveling misadventures of “Bartleby & Juniper” and the musical madness of “Stop That iPod!”
The June 14 show will mark the final Curtain Raisers performances of the troupe’s seniors: Xena Colby, Ann Marie Dorr, Ryan Long and Cameron Salisbury.
T-shirts will be on sale for $10. For more information, contact Mt. Blue Curtain Raisers Comedy Troupe Artistic Director Dan Ryder at danryder@msln.net, or 578-0357.
