CARTHAGE – New England Celtic Arts will host the popular Boston-based folk-pop quartet Tripping Lily at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 14, at The Skye Performing Arts Theater.

The musicians, who draw their inspiration from within, combine guitars, mandolins and fiddles with quirky melodies that feel both rootsy and modern to produce an energetic and edgy sound.

Together, Demetrius Becrelis (guitar/mandolin/vocals), brother Alex Becrelis (guitar/mandolin/vocals), Monica Rizzio (fiddle/vocals), and Laird Boles (upright bass), offer a unique blend of traditional and contemporary genres.

Rizzio and Demetrius Becrelis started writing and recording more than five years ago. With a strong motivation to improve, the duo expanded to the string quartet it is today.

Skye Theater is at 2 Highland Drive off Winter Hill Road and U.S. Route 2. Tickets are $10 at the door. Call New England Celtic Arts at 562-4445 for reservations. For more information, log on to www.necelticarts.com.
