TOPSHAM – The Oratorio Chorale will hold auditions for new singers Wednesday, June 27, beginning at 6 p.m.; Thursday, July 26, beginning at 6 p.m.; and Saturday, Aug. 25, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Auditions will be held at the Midcoast Presbyterian Church, 84 Main St.
Openings are available in all voice sections.
Choral masterpieces by Argento, Bach, Bruckner, Beethoven, and Puccini will be among the works featured during the 2007-2008 season. The chorale also will be joining the Portland Symphony Orchestra in April in the premiere performance of “Three Longfellow Poems,” by Vineet Shende.
The Oratorio Chorale, under the direction of Peter Frewen, is an auditioned chorus of about 60 singers from 20 communities. The ensemble performs three concerts a year at venues in Bath, Brunswick, Freeport, Newcastle, Portland, Topsham, and Yarmouth.
