In traditional bluegrass fashion, with vocals from all parties, the Grassholes have been recalling the sound of Appalachia together for many years. After a one-year monthly residency at Silly’s in Portland, the band has moved on to play the St. Lawrence Arts and Cultural Center, the Center for Cultural Exchange, Local 188, Bull Feeney’s, and the WIB Bluegrass Festival. Band members are Gail Landry on stand-up bass; Merrill Marsh, PSPS director and treasurer, rhythm guitar; Rob Neilson, mandolin; Sam Pfeifle, lead guitar; Field Rider, banjo, and Emily Wiederkehr, fiddle – all playing around one microphone. The band will perform at 7 p.m. Monday, June 25, at All Soul’s Chapel in Poland as part of the Poland Spring Preservation Society’s Summer Concert Series. Tickets are $5.
