CLINTON, Mass. (AP) – Two Clinton men are facing arraignment on charges that they set the fire that destroyed an abandoned paper mill in Erving last month.
Authorities say John Rousseau and Michael Dreslinski, both 28, are scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Orange District Court on burning a mill and conspiracy.
Firefighters from 20 communities and three states battled the July 30 early morning fire at the Usher Paper Mill for several hours. There were no injuries, but the blaze forced the closure of a key road in the area.
The suspects were arrested in Clinton on Sunday following an investigation conducted by state and local police, and the state fire marshal’s office.
Authorities did not say what led them to the suspects, or release a possible motive for setting the blaze.
