SOUTH LONDONDERRY, Vt. (AP) – A dispute over a board game erupted into a fight in which one man struck another with a wooden board, opening a cut on his head, Vermont State Police.

The incident occurred Sunday when Solomon Henderson, 35, of South Londonderry was playing a version of checkers with Howard Thompson.

Henderson hit Thompson in the head with a 2-foot long board, opening a cut on his head, Trooper Tim Gould said. He was treated and released from a hospital.

β€œIt was a fairly significant laceration,” said Gould.

Henderson was charged with aggravated assault.
