Dear Sun Spots: This is an inquiry from National Museums Liverpool in the United Kingdom.
Two 8 mm home-movies have been donated to the museum from a house clearance. The home-movies bear the name and address of a “John J Williams, 42 Walnut Street, Lewiston, Maine.
One of the home-movies is of the New York World Fair 1965. The other is titled “A Sunday Drive in Autumn.” This appears to feature people and country scenes in the locality. From the cars in the film it looks like it was shot in the 1950s.
The use of the word “Autumn” leads me to thinking that Mr. Williams may have been originally from the U.K.
If Mr. Williams or any of his family read this inquiry and would be interested in the return of the films then please do contact me.
I can be reached at Paul Browne, National Museums Liverpool, Albert Dock, Liverpool L3 4AQ, United Kingdom, or through e-mail at paul.browne@liverpoolmuseums.org.uk or phone at 0044 151 478 4415. Looking forward to hearing from any readers who might know this gentleman or his family. – Paul Browne, Liverpool, U.K.

Dear Sun Spots: I have a brass hall tree, which I would be happy to sell, in perfect condition. Please have No Name, No Town call me at 784-0246. My name is Harriet and I can be reached in the evening and I live in Auburn. Thanks. – Harriet, Auburn.
Dear Sun Spots: An article published Sept. 12 about the old animal pound of the town of Greenwood prompts a question about Lewiston’s animal pound:
There are references to its location as near the intersection of Webster Street and Alfred Plourde Parkway. Does anyone remember seeing a collection of large stones there that could have been used to make that enclosure? Please call me at 782-3072. – Doug Hodgkin, Lewiston.
Dear Sun Spots: I am wondering if anyone in Lewiston and Auburn might have any toy Legos they don’t want or need anymore. May be your child went off to college and left all his old stuff to clutter your house. Or do you have your own Lego collection that you no longer care about?
I am trying to make a huge monster size Lego creation of my own to compete with others or just to let people look at it for amusement. The problem is I don’t have enough Legos and need more.
If you want to get rid of your old collection I will gladly help you, but if it requires money I might be able to do that with small prices. If you’re interested please give me a call at 786-9750. Looking forward to hearing from anyone who might be able to help. – 14-year-old future engineer, Auburn.
