CONWAY, N.H. (AP) – Police say a convicted sex offender attempted to lure boys into a restroom stall in a North Conway fast-food restaurant last month.
Andrew Hebert, 32, was charged with aggravated felonious sexual assault and attempt to commit aggravated felonious sexual assault.
Police said Hebert was in the restroom of a McDonald’s restaurant. The boys were under the age of 13. Police say one is from the area, and the other is from out of state.
Investigators said Hebert lurked in the bathroom, and when a child came in by himself, he would attempt to lure the boy into his stall.
Hebert is on the state list of registered sex offenders.
He was convicted twice in Massachusetts of raping a child and had been living in Madison, N.H. Police searched his home and seized some evidence.
If convicted, Hebert could face two consecutive life sentences because of his prior convictions. He was ordered held without bail.
