NORTH CONWAY, N.H. (AP) – Searchers have found safely found a woman missing for several hours in wet chilly weather after she walked away from an independent living center for people with brain injury. Lt. Jim Goss of New Hampshire Fish and Game says 24-year-old Megan Lantz was found on a hiking trail about a mile and a half from the facility. Dozens of searchers had been looking for the Sunapee woman for about five hours.
Fisher said she had last been seen about 8 a.m. at the North Country Independent Living, Incorporated, home. Public safety officers and volunteers began looking for her early in the afternoon.
She was found on the Black Cap Mountain Trail and taken to a North Conway hospital to be checked out for possible mild hypothermia. Fisher says she is expected to recover.
