BOSTON (AP) – Five U.S. Airways crew members became sick on a flight from Washington to Boston on Monday, after they’d earlier complained of a sulfur-type odor on another plane.
Crew members and passengers on Flight 2022 had reported a foul odor after a plane left Ronald Reagan-Washington National Airport, so the flight returned to Washington.
The crew and passengers then swapped planes and flew to Boston.
However, five crew members still became ill during the flight, according to Valerie Wunder, a spokeswoman for U.S. Airways.
They were treated with oxygen after complaining of headaches and nausea, said Boston EMS Lt. Christopher Stratton. He said the injuries were not life-threatening. The crew showed signs of carbon monoxide illness.
None of the 81 passengers was affected, Wunder said.
