LEBANON, N.H. (AP) – One teenager has been found guilty in a cheating scandal at Hanover High School.

In a brief trial Wednesday at Lebanon District Court, Paul Formella was found guilty of acting as a lookout while others took exam questions from a locked filing cabinet at the school in June.

Formella was the first of nine teens charged in the exam theft to face a trial. As part of his punishment, he will have to apologize publicly at the school, do community service and write essays.

Judges previously rejected plea deals for the teens.
