GOSHEN, Mass. (AP) – State police are investigating a pair of single car crashes that left two people dead and two seriously hurt.

The first happened at about 1:40 a.m. in Goshen when 25-year-old Edward Roberts lost control of his pick up and it rolled over into nearby woods.

A 15-year-old passenger was killed and Roberts was flown to Bay State Medical Center in Springfield with serious injuries.

Later, at about 5 a.m., an SUV driver drove into the median on Route 95 South in Sharon.

The SUV hit several trees and rolled over, then burst into flames.

The driver, a 30-year-old from Malden, was thrown from the SUV and found conscious at the scene. A passenger was pulled from under the car and pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have not released the identities of the deceased.
