NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (AP) – Authorities are investigating a fatal pedestrian accident on Interstate 91 in Northampton.
State police say one vehicle swerved to avoid hitting 18-year-old Miles Adams on the roadway Sunday, but Adams was then struck by a tractor-trailer and a car in the northbound lanes between exits 18 and 19.
The teen was pronounced dead at a Springfield hospital shortly after the incident, which happened just before 5 a.m. Sunday.
State police are trying to determine why Adams was on the highway at the time. None of the drivers involved was hurt.
