RUMFORD – A story that ran Monday, June 23, on page B3 of the Region edition contained incorrect information.

NewPage Inc. had nothing to do with a June 1 drill focused on response to a chemical leak and injured workers. That drill was initiated by Rumford Power Inc., an electricity-generating plant in Rumford’s industrial park. It was held on their property not NewPage’s, to focus training on handling Rumford Power Inc.’s only hazardous chemical – anhydrous ammonia – which is used as a coolant.

The information was incorrectly reported by the Sun Journal.
