Maranacook marched through the Apple Valley Babe Ruth playoffs to claim the 13-to-15-year-old title.
David Clough was the winning pitcher in both an 8-5 quarterfinal victory over Leeds and a 12-2 semifinal verdict over Winthrop. Jon Varney singled three times in the opener. Matthew Surette added a triple and a single. Eben Ballard doubled and singled.
Clough helped himself with a triple and a double against Winthrop. Dakota Duplissis and Greg Goucher each also ripped two extra-base hits.
Duplissis deliverd a triple and a double once again in a 15-5 championship rout of Oak Hill. Goucher tripled and singled, and Surette smacked a double. Eben Ballard was the winning hurler. Martin (triple), Tibbetts (double) and Allen (single) paced Oak Hill’s offense.
