PITTSFIELD – In a rain-shortened, six-inning affair, the Winthrop Red Sox routed Gilman’s Guys, 10-3, in the Men’s Senior Baseball League.

Winning pitcher Jim Morris fought through seven walks and a hit batsman to strike out seven. Winthrop scored four runs in the third inning and six in the fifth to guide the way. Dave Ricker Jr., Bob Cochran and Josh Nichols led the Red Sox with two hits apiece. Jeremy Bragg had two hits for Gilman’s. The Red Sox take on the Kennebec Indians at 7:30 p.m. Monday, July 7 at ASLL.
