Kory Norcross went 2-for-3 from the plate a pitched nearly flawless softball to lead the Auburn Suburban Little League 11-12-year-old all-stars to a 13-1 win over Lewiston. Kennedy Hubbard went 3-for-3 for Auburn with two doubles and a single, while Emily Bolduc also had two hits.
For Lewiston, Bethany Fox reached base twice while Taylor Teixeira and Michelle Malio each reached once.
On Saturday, Auburn completed the sweep to reach the state tournament with another win over Lewiston. Emily Bolduc earned the win and reached base three times for Auburn. Ashlee Arnold reached four times, and Amanda Williams wound up with a triple, a single and a walk.
Michelle Malia and Courtney Jacques pitched for Lewiston, and Taylor Teixeira reached twice.
ASLL sweeps South Lewiston
Auburn Suburban Little League swept South Lewiston in a pair of games late last week in District 5 tournament play. Kylie Martin starred in the first game, a 12-10 ASLL win, earning the win as the pitcher and belting a home run to key the offense. Miranda Johnson and Molly Murray also contributed on offense for Auburn.
In the second game, Johnson, Calli Murray and Molly Murray all contributed on offense, and Emily Jacques smacked a home run. Brooke Bay came in to pitch a pair of innings and struck out four.
