Androscoggin Habitat for Humanity will have its fourth annual golf tournament on Friday, Sept. 19 at the Springbrook Golf Club in Leeds.
Event co-chairs Deb Leonard and Cheryl Black said sponsors are needed. The tournament, which is the organization’s largest annual fundraiser, last year raised more than $10,000 for use in building a home on Golder Road in Lewiston.
Deb Leonard said prospective sponsors or player teams can sign up by calling her at 777-7070 or visiting www.androhforh.org to download a form that has detailed information.
Androscoggin Habitat for Humanity has built 14 homes in the Lewiston-Auburn area over the past 19 years.
Volunteers are expected to begin work on the next AHFH home this summer. A family selection team is narrowing a list of applicants to purchase the home. Families are selected on the basis of need for adequate, affordable housing, ability to repay an interest-free mortgage, and willingness to participate in the construction.
