LEWISTON – The Lewiston Recreation Department is informing residents that July 22nd is the deadline for area children to sign up for its “Summer Skills Basketball Program.” The program will run from July 22 – August 14th for boys & girls ages 4 – 8. Ages will be divided into two groups, with Group I being 4 – 6 year olds meeting from 5:45 p.m. – 6:45 p.m. and Group II being 7 & 8 year olds meeting from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. The program will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Lewiston Memorial Armory, 65 Central Avenue.

Participants will receive age-appropriate quality instruction in the game of basketball. Instructors will introduce participants to the rules and fundamentals of basketball including dribbling, shooting, passing, and offensive & defensive skills. Matt Lampron will serve as Director of the program.

The cost to participate is $30 for Lewiston residents, which includes a program shirt, and $40 for non-residents. Registration may be made anytime prior to July 22nd at the Department of Recreation Office, 65 Central Avenue, between 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
