AUBURN – TriCounty West Babe Ruth beat a tough Elliot Ave. Little League Babe Ruth team, 6-2, to capture the recent District III title in the 13-15 age bracket.

Elliot had to make an impressive run through the consolation bracket after losing to TriCounty West to open the tournament. Tyler Chiasson pitched 5 1/3 innings and Arik Fenstermacher came in for the save to lead TriCounty West to its fourth straight win.

Connor Blais blasted a two-run homer to left center to give West a 2-0 lead in the first inning. Gino Salgado also led the way with one double and two singles for TriCounty.

Cody Hadley pitched a complete game against Elliot to open the tournament with a 7-4 victory. Eric Bolduc led the way with three hits and a walk, while Arik Fenstermacher and Connor Blais contributed two hits apiece. Frankie Welch had two hits for Elliot.

The second game of the tournament by TriCounty was a 9-6 victory against Franklin County. Bolduc pitched five innings and Fenstermacher closed out the game with two innings of relief for the save. Blais and Hadley had two hits apiece. One of Blais’ blasts was a line drive, two-run home run to center.

Chiasson also had a base hit and 3 RBIs for TC. Dylan Vining, Craig Marshall, Pat Anthony and Jimmy Neal had multiple-hit games to lead Franklin County.

Blais pitched five innings against Auburn, followed by two innings of relief from Fenstermacher in a 4-3 victory. Salgodo led off the sixth inning with a double, and pinch runner Dalton Bradley subsequently scored on a passed ball for the winning run. Ryan Arnold had three singles and two RBIs for Auburn.

TriCounty utilized balanced pitching, defense and hitting throughout the tournament to capture the district title. West later participated in the state tournament in Augusta.
