WINTHROP – Leadoff hitter Mike House reached safely and scored a run on all four of his at-bats Tuesday night to propel the Winthrop Red Sox past the Green Wave of Oakland, 9-1, in the final regular season game of the year in the Men’s Senior Baseball League.
The combination of winning pitcher Torey Carr (five innings) and Brett Witherell (two frames of relief) limited the Wave to two hits. Dave Ricker Jr. added a double and a single for the Red Sox. Jon Laverdiere doubled and scored the lone run for the Green Wave. J.D. Durrell absorbed the loss on the hill.
