AUBURN – YMCA of Auburn-Lewiston is offering an ARC Lifeguard Certification Course to be held several nights a week from August 26 to Sept. 18. The course will run from approximately 6 to 10 p.m. each night.
There are several prerequisites for the course, including a 300-yard swim. Participants must be at least age 15 before the last scheduled class session. Upon completion of the course, the lifeguarding/first aid certification are valid for three years, and the CPR expires after one year.
Course fee is $210, including course materials. Registration is now open, but class size is limited. There also may be space for those needing to recertify in CPR-FPR. For more information, please call 795-4095, email cshea@alymca.com, or stop by the YMCA at 62 Turner St.
