AUBURN – Due to wet field conditions, the start of the best-of-three Twin Cities men’s softball league championships has been moved to Tuesday evening at Pettengill Park.

First and second-place teams from the Lewiston Men’s League will challenge their counterparts from the Auburn Players League.

S&D, Meineke enjoy late-season success

AUBURN – S&D Sheet Metal Sharks routed Meineke Muffler, 15-8, to advance to the Auburn Players League championship round last week. Nic Marr, Scott Wetherell, Dave Veinotte and Phil Charest led the Sharks at the plate, with Jim Wetherell gaining the win on the mound. It marked the Sharks’ first championship appearance in their three-year history in the league.

Meineke finished third in the playoffs, downing Major Auto, 7-6, before its loss to S&D. In prior action, Meineke posted a pair of wins over Tailgators, 11-7, and E.S.M., 12-6. Nine players scored a run in the triumph over E.S.M. Johnny Langelier outdueled Chance Dodge for the victory.
