LEWISTON – Lewiston Jr. Maineiacs Bantam Travel hockey team remained undefeated in state competition with a weekend sweep, topping Capital District, 4-1, and Biddeford, 9-4.
Calvin Stewart scored two goals in the win over Augusta. Greg Alexander and Alex Gregoire each scored for Lewiston.
Jordan Charest and James Waldron picked up assists. Evan Bourassa was the winning goaltender.
Jake Bergeron registered a hat trick in the second victory. Eric Soucy and Luke Olehowski each provided two goals and two assists. Bobby St. Hilaire and Gregoire chalked up one goals and two assists apiece. Tanner Hubbard doled out a pair of assists. Noah Hutchinson prevailed between the pipes.
Drew Olehowski, Brendan Landry, Korey Mulherin and Ivan Ramirez provided strong defense, while Brendan Pelletier’s aggressive play fueled the offensive outburst. The Jr. Maineiacs, 8-2 overall, return to action at 11:50 a.m. Sunday at home against Central Maine Bantams of the Waterville area.
