LEWISTON – The Lewiston Jr. Maineiacs Mite A Travel team is off to an explosive start to the season with six games under its belt, including five victories.

Lewiston defeated Dover, N.H., 4-2, on the strength of goals from Matthew Barrett, Joshua Soucy, Hunter Steele and Eliza Beaudin. Brandon Michaud and Noah Pellerin provided assists.

New England Bulldogs of Massachusetts dealt the Maineiacs Mites a 7-3 defeat. Lewiston played hard through the first and second periods, but the Bulldogs pulled away in the third. Lewiston did celebrate goals by Steele (assist by Noah Austin), Barrett (assist by Michaud) and Michaud (assist by Pellerin).

Mites returned home to a 5-3 triumph over N.H. East. Nick Bisson scored twice. Ryan Pomerleau, Steele and Michaud each contributed one goal apiece. Austin assisted twice along with Barrett, Pellerin, Soucy, Alex Robert and Sam Laroche.

Lewiston turned back Concord, N.H., 7-4. Bree Bergeron and Bisson scored two goals apiece, with Cam Cote and Chad Lynch chalking up one each. Austin, Pellerin and Dorian Desjardins registered assists.

Great defense and a spectacular performance by goalie Alex Roy fueled a 7-1 victory over Biddeford. Bisson produced a hat trick. Pellerin picked up a pair of goals, with Steele and Eliza Beaudin also lighting the lamp. Austin and Chad Lynch dealt the assists.

In the second half of that home-and-home series, Lewiston traveled to Biddeford a day later and again silenced the Sharks. Beaudin, Bisson, Desjardins and Soucy led the offensive eruption with two goals each. Laroche and Lynch each provided one, with assists to Soucy, Beaudin and Michaud. Roy and the defense were tough throughout.
