The Auburn Avalanche Peewee House hockey team split a pair of games in the Waterville area, falling 6-3 to Fairfield at Sukee Arena in Winslow before bouncing back with a 5-2 victory over Central Maine Youth Hockey Gold.

Auburn (2-2) used a strong team effort to stave off Waterville.

Kyle Knight and Branden Dyer chipped in with two goals each. Mitchell Spurr added one. Dylan Decker and Ryan Lavoie each logged an assist. Lavoie and Tanner Ramich played outstanding two-way hockey for the entire game. Goalie Nick Hemond played another solid game in net for the Avalanche.

The Avalanche let a 3-0 first-period lead disappear in a penalty-filled contest against Fairfield. Auburn surrendered three power play goals over the final two periods. Knight scored two goals for the Avalanche, with Ramich netting one. Lavoie and Dyer registered the assists. Hemond turned aside many quality scoring chances.
