FRYEBURG – The Maine Candlepin Bowling Association held its annual Women’s and Men’s APH and Open Finals this past weekend at Saco Valley Sports Center.
It was a 10-string event with bowlers competing from all over the state.
In the Ladies’ APH division, the Vacationland Bowling Center team, Steffanie Vire and Kacie Trask, placed first with a combined pinfall of 2,829 with handicap added
The Big 20 of Scarborough team of Minni Bouffard and Jen Barschdorf was second at 2,808. Saco Valley’s Jennifer Layne-Eastman and Carolyn Potter were third with 2,788.
The Colonial Bowling Center of Westbrook tandem of Brooke Anton and Kim Kangas won the women’s open divsion with a scratch total of 2,238. In the Men’ APH division, Vacationland’s Louis Waterhouse and Shawn Nicolas were first with 2,897, edging Harry Seidel and Dusty Ward of Hobbs Lucky Lanes in South Paris with 2,831. Men’s Open champs were Scott and Jeff Lapierre of Vacationland with 2,490.
The next Maine State Candlepin Bowling Association final Dec. 13-14 will be Mixed Doubles at the Colonial Bowling Center in Westbrook.
