LEWISTON – Lewiston Jr. Maineiacs Squirt Ttravel hockey rallied for a thrilling weekend win over Back Bay of New Hampshire.
Trailing 2-1 with 23 seconds remaining in regulation, Lewiston pulled goaltender Devin Dumont. Jeromey Rancourt then tied the game before Cooper Richard connected with less than two seconds on the clock to secure the victory. Joseph Bisson scored a goal and assisted and both late scores for Lewiston. Richard and Bryce Leger also registered assists, with Dumont making key stops throughout the contest.
Lewiston tied Casco Bay Buccaneers, 4-4, at Travis Roy Arena in Yarmouth the next day. Justin Keaney led the way for the Juniors with a goal and an assist. Roman Dennis, Luc Dostie and Noah Buiniskas rounded out the scoring. Kyle Welsh was the Lewiston netminder.
